CDAG 2023 Virtual Conference
CDAG: Refocus
4c – Serious Gamification for Capacity Building with Vulnerable Populations
Christine Boyko-Head, Mohawk College; David Chandross, Toronto Metropolitan University; Glenys McQueen-Fuentes, Brock University (Retired); Chris Bent, Piccles
This session describes phase one of a SSHRC funded project between Mohawk College and Rabbitown Community Centre in St John’s, Nfld, that refocuses needs assessment processes through the lens of serious gamification. This modification to the conventional collection of data plays with serious gamification and arts-based practices to create 360 degree portraits of girls and women in order to enhance their capacity building by creating possible, probable and preferred futures. The session showcases the MASKED Inventory and involves an invitation to join the second phase of research.
