Conference Session: Be resourceful! Finding hidden opportunities to grow your professional practice

CDAG 2022 Virtual Conference

CDAG: Back to the Future

1b – Be resourceful! Finding hidden opportunities to grow your professional practice

Elena Chudaeva, George Brown College and Alexander McGlashan, Niagara College

Do you want to try and experiment with new and out-of-the-box ideas to enrich your professional practice? Yet there is no money, no resources, and no time!

What can you do? There are resources out there that you as a faculty member can leverage.

In this session, the presenters will share their own experiences working both collaboratively and individually on projects that challenge the traditional notion of teaching and learning practices. The presenters will discuss how college faculty can access external funding opportunities and overcome the internal organizational barriers to pursue projects that would enrich their repertoire of teaching and learning strategies, and provide valuable experiences to share with their students, colleagues, and the broader academic community. Participants will engage in a whole group discussion as well as small group conversations about their own goals, perceived challenges, and ways to succeed.
