CDAG 2023 Virtual Conference
Conference Theme: Refocus
CDAG welcomes your participation in our annual conference which will be held online November 15-17, 2023. Presenting at the CDAG Conference is an excellent opportunity to facilitate a conversation on a topic you know to be valuable to our curriculum development practices
Session Formats
Please indicate in your proposal the format best suited to your session.

Workshop (60 minutes)
These interactive sessions allow for plenty of audience participation! This is the ideal format for taking participants through the design and/or implementation of a new or successful strategy used in your work. Share your challenges, successes and insights and provide opportunities for the audience to consider how to apply something similar in their practice.
Panel Discussion (60 minutes)
With a panel of colleagues (multi-college representation is always popular!), address one or more topics related to the conference theme. Panelists might discuss their approaches to one or a variety of specific problems, processes, research, trends, etc., and share insights from their experiences. Plan for no more than 3-4 panelists plus a moderator who keeps speakers on track and on time to allow for a 10- or 15-minute Q&A/discussion with the audience.
Presentation (30 minutes)
Interested in sharing a new approach to your work, findings from research you conducted, or a favourite or successful methodology or practice? Then this is an ideal format! Share the details of your topic in a 20-minute talk, allowing a few minutes at the end for audience questions.
Ready to try something new? Show and Tell (under 7 minutes!)
- Giving a Good Lightning Talk (software Sustainability Institute)
- Lightning Talks and Ignite Talks: A Beginners Guide (Beautiful.ai)
Do you have a curriculum-related tip or trick that aligns to the conference theme that you can deliver at lightning speed? For something new and fun, CDAG is looking for a few volunteers to sign up for a Pecha Kucha “more show, less tell” lightning talk. The format is 20 slides that automatically advance every 20 seconds, resulting in a talk lasting exactly six minutes and forty seconds! The presentations will run consecutively, leaving time for a shared Q&A session at the end. Interested but want to learn more about the format before committing? Here are a couple of useful resources and “how-to” guides:
Conference Streams
