  • Jessie Paterson, George Brown College

Building on a workshop delivered at the 2022 CDAG conference by Ela Smith, learning circle participants discussed a book by Stan Wilson called Indigegogy in a monthly reading series. Curriculum Consultants across Ontario took turns facilitating discussion on chapters and connections to higher education. Through (re)focusing on their own personal and professional experiences connected to the book, the collective processing and takeaways from content impacted participants’ curriculum practice and consultation. The panel will discuss individual and some shared takeaways from this OER resource to encourage others to read and process Indigegogy, language, colonial impacts on academics, reconciliation and how it can look in post secondary, and critical self-reflection regarding curriculum consultation. Finally, participants will be invited to join future iterations of the learning circle and/or consider some promising practices for starting their own. Workshop participants may wish to access Wilson’s book here.
