Speaker: Mike Hill; MSVU (Mount Saint Vincent University) and UPEI (University of Prince Edward Island). He has been teaching courses related to assessment and academic integrity for 20 years, and has held leadership positions that include Director / Dean (Georgian College), Associate Vice President Academic Services (NSCC), Academic Director (St. Thomas University), and Quality Control Officer (NSCAD University).
Description:
While it’s important to avoid the assumption that a student’s reluctance is a deficiency that needs fixing, as educators we must investigate the reasons and develop strategies for creating a climate of respect. This workshop will explore ways to develop these strategies along with infusing them into our curriculum design and delivery.
