Designing Slides to Enhance Learning
Presenter: Sara Powell, Instructional Designer, Algonquin College
Date: October 21, 2021
Time: 12:00 – 1:00 pm
Description:
Using slideshows for lecturing, teaching, and presenting continues to be the foundation for content delivery. However, focus is often pulled in multiple directions resulting in cognitive overload. By reducing cognitive load through effective slide design, our target audience can focus on the most important information. This session will introduce you to cognitive load theory in tandem with design principles and provide you with an opportunity to try it for yourself.
